Netflix has released the first trailer for its next movie The wondera new mysterious drama from the director Sebastian Lelio (A fantastic woman, Disobedience, Gloria Campana). The film is the protagonist Florence Pugh and is based on the book of Emma Donoghuethe writer of Room. This film tells a disturbing story, like a psychological thriller.
The story is set in Ireland in 1862. “13 years after the Great Famine. An English nurse Nightingale Lib Wright (Pugh) is called to the Irish Midlands by a devoted community to conduct a 15-day exam on one of them. Anna O’Donnell (Kila Lord Cassidy) is an 11-year-old girl who claims she hasn’t eaten for four months, miraculously surviving thanks to “manna from heaven”. As Anna’s health deteriorates rapidly, Lib is determined to unearth the truth, challenging the faith of a community she would rather continue to believe. “
The supporting cast includes Tom Burke, Niamh Algar, Elaine Cassidy, Toby Jones, Cerve Ciarán, Dermot Crowley, Brian F. O’ByrneAnd David Wilmot. This movie seems to tell an intriguing story and I’m curious to see how it turns out.
Netflix will debut The wonder in selected theaters on November 2, 2022, then streaming on Netflix starting November 16.
