The creative team behind Amazon Prime Video The Lord of the Rings: The rings of power have officially started production of the second season! As you know, I’m a huge fan of this series and still love it! My opinion on it didn’t change as I was watching. I am still very happy with this and I am thrilled that the second season is going into production!
Yes, I’m sure a post like this is sure to draw trolls to the series’ trash, but whatever. Season 2 is filmed at Bray Studios outside London. Further shooting will take place in New Zealand, where the entire first season was filmed.
The Rings of Power is nearing its Season 1 finale and it will be interesting to see how this first chapter of the story comes to an end. I’m particularly excited to see which character in the story ends up being Sauron in disguise. The last episode that aired was pretty damn incredible and definitely left the fans in shock.
It has also been announced that the character Círdan will be introduced in Season 2. Círdan is one of the highest and noblest of the Sindar, Lord of the Falathrim during the First Age and Master of the Gray Refuges until the Second, Third and Fourth Ages. He is the eldest living Elf in Middle-earth. He was also given Narya, one of the Three Rings, the Ring of Fire, by Celebrimbor until he gave it to Gandalf.
The series is based on the appendices of JRR Tolkien’S The Lord of the Rings books and the story is set in the Second Age of Middle-earth, “thousands of years before the events of JRR Tolkien The Hobbit And The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era where great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the thinnest threads, and the greatest villain to ever come out of the pen by Tolkien threatened to cover the whole world in darkness.
