The creators of COBRA KAI talk about a possible delay in the sixth season, the return of Chozen and the main news of Johnny

Cobra Kai fans saw another great season released last month with Season 5. We saw some of the characters who had feuds in previous seasons finally make amends, we saw the end of a great battle, one of the Karate Kid the character really seemed to be spinning a new leaf and making giant leaps in his personal life, and there were, of course, some incredible fight scenes that pushed the envelope beyond each season before.

Surprisingly, even with the show in first place streaming on Netflix, we haven’t heard a final renewal order from the streamer yet. While we’re pretty certain this is just a formality to come soon, the show’s creators have been talking about why this could mean we have a little delay before next season.

The trio is currently working on their next Netflix series Deleted, a high-octane action comedy that tells the story of an elite Special Forces team fighting a deadly threat in Las Vegas; as well as a movie for Paramount Pictures titled Sam and Victor’s day off, a spin-off of Ferris Bueller’s day off focusing on the valets who took a car ride in the John Hughes film.

So it’s not like they’re bored waiting Cobra Kai to return. But when asked if we might see a delay, they replied:

“We are still working on all of this with Sony and Netflix, and we don’t have an official sixth season to announce yet,” Hurwitz said in a recent interview. “What we can say is that we constantly think about these characters. We’re working on it Deleted right now for Sony and Netflix. We are in our second month of production on this, and I think it will blow people away. But hopefully there will be more Cobra Kai on the horizon. There may be a little more waiting potentially, just because we’re working on that other show, but it won’t be far behind, assuming everything goes as we expect.

Speaking of Chozen’s most important role this season and his friendship with Daniel and Johnny, they explained:

Heald went on to talk about Johnny’s big news this season, saying:

“Maybe the third time is the absolute fascination for Johnny. He has a biological son that he messed up and holds a lot of regret and resentment for himself for how he behaved like an unprepared father. She’s had a mostly good but somewhat tumultuous relationship with Miguel at times in terms of not always doing the right thing or saying the right thing, and she fears that maybe he’s not the best mentor sometimes, but ultimately these two they keep coming back to each other and we feel really good about that relationship.

He added: “But Johnny and Carmen, she has been a breath of fresh air in his life, one of the only calming influences that brings him back to reality and gives him a person to really connect with, who isn’t that deep in the wars of karate as it is. It was important for us not to look for ways to tarnish this. They are having a baby and we think it’s a wonderful thing for Johnny. “
