I am incredibly excited about Marvel’s upcoming Halloween horror special Werewolf at night, and I must say that I am quite disappointed that I was not invited to watch it with the first press run. But it’s nice to see the reactions that are flooding social media from critics because they love it and say things that are raising my arousal level!
The project is a throwback to the black and white horror films of the 1930s and 1940s. The story centers on a group of unusual suspects gathered on a disturbing night, and one of them is the werewolf at night. They find themselves in a position where they are forced to stay alive as the end of the night approaches.
Some say this is the best Disney + project Marvel has released and that it’s one of the coolest things to come out of the MCU. They also say you tell a compelling story with horrifying images.
If this ends up being as good as they say, I hope Marvel is planning more of this type of film!
Gael Garcia Bernal plays Jack Russell, aka Werewolf by Night, and is joined by him Laura Donnelly And Harriet Sansom Harris. It will premiere on Disney Plus on October 7th. Check out the reactions below and let us know what you think!
Marvel Disney + shows have been all over the place when it comes to map quality, but #WerewolfByNight it’s easily the best thing they’ve done. Yes, even better than #Moon Knight (that you all know that I loved) pic.twitter.com/JYhwimtJgm

#WerewolfByNight it’s the MCU Halloween gift I was hoping for! A delightful ode to classic monster movies with MCU-level stuntwork, sets and effects. I LOVE the dynamic between the characters of Gael García Bernal and Laura Donnelly and … pic.twitter.com/6KFGTcxZE9

Hopefully we will see many more projects like Werewolf By Night in the future of the MCU. It’s a very simple story, but also aggressively self-contained and elegant in a way that’s unique to the franchise. A very cool Halloween surprise.

#WerewolfByNight is a classic Hollywood monster movie that you won’t want to finish. SPOOKY and STRIKING, it’s one of the coolest things EVER come out of the MCU. @Gael Garcia B. it is thrilling to see the inner beast suppressed. More Jack Russell! What can not @m_giacchino to do at this point? pic.twitter.com/P1AB1702td

#WerewolfByNight it’s delightfully twisted and a fantastic tribute to classic Monster movies. @m_giacchino killed him!
Super violent, with a morbid sense of humor and a lot of heart. Gael García Bernal and Laura Donnelly are welcome additions to the MCU. Man-Thing steals the show! pic.twitter.com/OintiS3TCi

#WerewolfByNight is the most idiosyncratic MCU project since GOTG. So well? No. But it’s a remarkable breath of fresh air to see Marvel try something like this, as its tone and style are VERY like the trailer.
More so, please. Comics are weird. Let’s be weird. 🐺 pic.twitter.com/Z2kCmEYohM

love you #WerewolfByNight! The classic black and white throwback horror approach works perfectly for the story and looks so unique within the MCU. It’s an exciting example of how they can push boundaries. The cast is fantastic and I hope to see more and this sort of thing. pic.twitter.com/YJoTqmPXWo

Marvel’s WEREWOLF BY NIGHT is a B-movie-flavored monstrous mush, clearly crafted with total horror nerd love and passion. As a Marvel fan and horror fan, I hope they explore this corner of the universe more. And I hope Michael Giacchino has given the reins.

WEREWOLF BY NIGHT is Marvel’s confident tone on Disney + that I’ve been waiting for.
Truly frightening at times and dripping with macabre encampment, it doesn’t throw punches in violent delights.
Michael Giacchino has come up with something really special.
More of this please!
