‘The Dragon House’: Chapter 6 trailer welcomes Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke

After the premiere of the fifth chapter of “The House of the Dragon”, HBO presented us the trailer for the next episode, where a big time jump will take place. The actresses who play the young Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) and Alicent (Emily Carey) conclude their work in the last chapter, giving way to Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke, who will respectively play Princess Targaryen and Queen of Westeros. . The actresses will play the characters as adults, leading to the biggest and most anticipated time jump in the series, creating the definitive characters for the remainder of the season.

D’Arcy and Cooke were among the first actresses announced to cast in December 2020. However, they surprised us with the start of the “Game of Thrones” prequel, with Alcock and Carey bringing younger versions of these protagonists to life.

Before the premiere of the trailer for the sixth episode, we didn’t know exactly when the change of actresses would take place. The novel on which the series is based, “Fire and Blood” by George RR Martin, does not emphasize the youth of Rhaenyra and Alicent, presenting them as adults at odds with each other. From now on, “The House of the Dragon” will show us the events that led to the civil war between the Targaryens, due to the conflict over the succession to the Iron Throne. The definitive time jump

‘The House of the Dragon’ has already shown us several jumps in time. Six months had passed between the first and second episodes. Between chapters two and three, the jump in time was three years. And so on. During these time hops we have seen some changes in the cast that indicate the passing of the years. This was the case with Matthew Carver, who in the first episode played the young Laenor Velaryon, but in the third the character was played by Theo Nate, the adult version of Laenor.
