We tell you what you need to know about the premiere of The Orphan: The Origin – Diffusion (Paramount)

After 13 years of waiting, La huérfana: el origin will debut today, September 15, in several cinemas in Mexico, as well as in Peru, Colombia and other parts of Latin America. The film with Julia Stilles and Isabel Furhmantells us about the events leading up to his first episode, which won the fans’ taste in 2009 for its disturbing ending.

The film arrived at Paramount Plus in the United States on August 19, but today you can find it at Cinepoils, Cinemex, Citicinemas or in different cinemas across the republic. The delivery of 2009 was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, this second part comes from the hand of William Brent Bellwith a screenplay by David Coggeshall, which is based on a story by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Alex Mace.

The orphan: the origin tells us the story of Leena Klammer, a woman suffering from a strange disease that makes her look like a girl, but who is actually a dangerous killer just escaped from a psychiatric hospital. With this she Lena pretends to be a 9-year-old girl who disappeared in Estonia, eventually being adopted by an American family.

While it is not easy to generate a prequel knowing that in advance the public already knows the twist and the outcome of the main character, according to some sources and observing the absurdity of the trailer, it seems that The Orphan: The Origin will shoot what we could. see in the first movie.

And it is that one of the biggest challenges was convincing Isabel Furhman, after 13 years, to play a child character again, and all without using CGI or laborious digital tricks. This was achieved through forced perspectives and complex camera tricks, added to the costumes and lightweight prosthetics, which made Isabel look like a child again.

If the challenge for Furhman in the first part was to play an adult pretending to be a girl, now at 25 the assignment takes a 180-degree turn of having to play a girl now that she is an adult. This is how the actress describes it through the source Collider :

I was there [filmando] everyday. I know how we did it. I know all the tricks and at the moment I’m very disturbed, because somehow I’m nine again and it doesn’t make any sense, “says the actress.
