Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights 2022 ranking and video

The season of Halloween is here and it’s that wonderfully spooky time of year where horror fans start haunting the creepy alleys and mazes for some fun dread. One of my favorite places to go is Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights, which I go to every year! It’s the event I always start the Halloween season with!

I was invited to attend the opening night of Halloween Horror Nights and once again … it produced the nightmarish and fun fears I was looking for!

There were nine mazes this year, and I went ahead and ranked them for you from best to worst. This year it is definitely worth attending! If you like Halloween Horror Nights, you have some fun things to expect!

Here is a video that I cut along with the moments of my experience walking through the different mazes and the park. I hope you enjoy!

La Llorona: The crying woman

When La Llorona cries, you will scream. This was one hell of a creepy maze and was super dark content, which is why I liked it the most. They did some fun original stuff to us and I was surprised that they really include dead children in the attraction.

You and your screaming team remember the story of the woman who drowned her children and then herself. Once a childhood fairytale, she is back to terrify once again. This is not a nightmare. This is La Llorona.

Scarecrow: The harvest

Fear is about to be sown. This was an original Universal experience and I loved the whole atmosphere. Scarecrows are scary and this maze has tapped into that fear. I had a blast in this one and there were some solid jumping fears!

On an abandoned Depression-era farm, revenge takes root. Scarecrows are avenging the devastated land. In this brand new haunted house, the only crop that will be harvested will be your screaming squad.

Universal Monsters: Legends Collide

It’s the werewolf versus Dracula versus the mummy. I love universal monsters! So it was great to see them tell another original story with these characters. It wasn’t as good as last year’s The Bride of Frankenstein Lives maze, but it’s still great and offers fantastic fun for fans!

If you thought one universal monster was scary, how about three? Better summon your screaming team, because you are about to be caught in the middle of an epic battle between The Wolf Man, Dracula and The Mummy, together for the first time ever. Their mission: to find the amulet that will break their curse. And they will destroy anyone who gets in their way.

Killer Klown from space

You will scream, but not with laughter. If you’re a fan of the cult classic Killer Klowns For Outer Space, you’ll enjoy the extravagant madness this maze has to offer. There are creepy monsters around every corner waiting to destroy you!

If there is ever a reason people are afraid of clowns, this is it. The Outer Space Killer Klowns have landed. And the joke is about you if you let you and your screaming team end up becoming sticky, out-of-this-world snacks in the Klown’s candy cane cocoons. These Killer Klowns won’t make you scream with laughter, just scream.

Halloween

Its beginning is your end. An old man but a good one! The Halloween maze always manages to deliver the goods and this takes you through the terrifying events of the original film and comes complete with actors, acting out some of the iconic scenes from the film.

Gather your friends and visit Haddonfield, Illinois, where Michael Myers is about to don his mask and embark on his first brutal spree. Silent. Ruthless. Inflexible. It is the embodiment of pure evil. You don’t want to go alone as you go back to where it all began. This year, enter the original 1978 horror classic, Halloween.

Universal horror hotel

Welcome to the Hotel from Hell. This is a great concept for a Halloween maze and had some really fun times, but I have to say it was a missed opportunity to do something even more creepy and awesome! They just need to give this a little extra boost.

A 1920s Hollywood hotel, once the hunting ground of its notorious serial killer owner, has been transformed into a modern haunted hotel. Now he’s back from the dead. Your first stay will be your last.

The horrors of Blumhouse

Double the scream. Double the terror. This maze recreates scenes from Blumhouse films The black phone And Capricious. This was decent, but it would have been a much better experience if the maze had become fully focused The black phone.

Enter a new dual function of the horror Blumhouse. Your screaming team will find themselves trapped between a frantic teen and the ruthless serial killer she swapped bodies with Capricious. Then, you will try to desperately escape from The Grabber’s dark basement before becoming his latest victim in the terrifying The black phone.

Terror Tram

The tram of terror ventures into Jordan Peele’s mind. It’s always fun to walk around the back of Universal Studios and see the Psychopath house and the Spielberg plane crash War of the worlds close. The highlight of this year, though, is a Jordan Peele mashup We And No. They had some fun and it was nice to get through the actual set Nobut there weren’t many fears.

Terror Tram is back and this year will take you on a nightmare journey through some Halloween traditions that are best left in the dark. It all ends with a journey into Jordan Peele’s mind as you disembark and walk through the set of Jupiter’s Claim from his gripping new blockbuster, NOpopulated by The Tethered from We.

The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare

It’s music for your fears. I was confused when I learned that The Weekend was getting its own Halloween Horror Nights maze. I mean, there are some creepy moments of people having their faces robbed, but in the end this was the most boring maze of the event.

Get ready to enter The Weeknd’s macabre mind in this haunted house as he follows your team through the surreal nightmare of his After Hours music. A slasher who cuts a smile to an otherworldly rave. Blindfolded maniacs performing extreme plastic surgery. A masquerade of grotesque mannequins. His nightmare is now yours.
