HBO Max has released the official trailer for its brand new animated adaptation of Charlotte’s webThe timeless story of friendship, kindness and a pig who just wants to live his best life.
Produced by Sesame Workshop and animated by the Guru Studio di Toronto, this new interpretation of the beloved novel by EB White is now streaming on HBO Max.
The mini-series revisits the iconic friendship between Wilbur, a delicate pig of the farm and Charlotte, the wise spider that turns the words in his web to save him from the massacre. The show uses stylized 3D animations that seem colorful and heard, even if some fans could find the appearance a little clumsy compared to past versions.
The cast of voice includes Amy Adams Like Charlotte, Elia Wood As an adult Wilbur, Griffin Robert Faulkner as a young Wilbur, Jean Smart As a narrator, Cynthia erivo As goals, Natalie Chan as fern, Danny Trejo like Gander, Randall Park As Templeton, Chris Diamantopoulos Like Homer, Rosario Dawson Like Edith, Ana Ortiz like Dolores, e Tom Everett Scott Like John.
If you remember the 2006 live-action version starring Dakota FanningThis rests more in a family and classic tone. HBO’s animated mini-series aims to reintroduce history to a new generation.
The official synopsis reads: “In this last animated adaptation, Charlotte’s web The moving story of friendship, hope and power of simple acts of kindness tells through the link between Wilbur, a delicate pig and Charlotte, a wise and altruistic spider who swears to save him. “
Kay Wilson Stallings, Evp and Chief Creative & Production Officer of Sesame Workshop, had this to say about the project:
“This adaptation has been in progress and every detail reflects our passion for the novel by EB White, who touched the generations. With this extraordinary cast, we have created a reinterpretation of this story that celebrates friendship, empathy, courage, the community. We can’t wait for families to fall in love with these characters again.”
The mini-series was direct and showrun from Luke matheny (A guide for Birder to everything, the life of Gortimer Gibbon on a normal road).
All three episodes were directed by Yurie Rocha (Sesame Street Mecha Builders) and produced by Sesame Workshop with Emily Lindsay, together with the creative producers Rick Ritter and Jordan Geary.
