Crunchyroll recently announced that fans of Mobile Suit Gundam outside of Asia they will be able to enjoy the film Mobile Suit Gundam Cucuruz The island of Doan in cinemas for a limited time at the end of the month. The film is an adaptation of the 15th episode of the original anime and is directed by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko. The following dates are the first times the film is available outside Asia and that in both English subtitles and dubbing.
After a secret mission goes awry, Mobile Suit pilot Amuro Ray and his companions are stranded on a remote island. The battalion was sent to a land called the Isle of No Return to clear the enemy forces, only to find a group of children and an enemy mechanical attack. Now Amuro must find a way for all of them to escape this mysterious land, but not before meeting a strange man: Cucuruz Doan. Duration: 1 hour 48 min.
If you live in the UK, you can watch screenings on 21 and 22 September with tickets on sale on 16 September. US fans will have to wait until September 27 and 28 with tickets now available for purchase. If you’re in Canada, tickets are already on sale, but you have to wait until September 29th and October 1st. Finally, Australians can purchase tickets starting September 14, but will have a special 1 week commitment starting September 29. You can find details for purchasing tickets via Crunchyroll.
