THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER Early concept art reveals that the original ending was much darker

Thor: Love and thunder it was a very fun return to the franchise with the return of the director Taika Waititi. It featured a rather obscure villain with Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher, who was out to do the job clearly stated in his name, with Chris HemsworthThor is in the sights. He captured the children of earthly Asgard and held them captive to lure the Thunder God.

But while things turned out well for Nice Guys in the end, things almost got a lot darker. Some concept art was shared by the artist George Hull which portrays a scene from the first draft of the film, and what was reproduced there is absurd.

Hull explained in the Instagram post:

These THOR concept paintings are just a few that I created for the director and team as they considered different options for the film’s final act … (Christian Bale’s character trying to enter Eden using Thor’s ax , the use of shadow cages and creatures, etc.) The first script had the soul of the children needed to enter Eden, but in the end Taika chose to simplify the story and the settings for the better. My job is to explore various options and possibilities during this first imaginative phase. Thanks @taikawaititi for the fun times!
