Star Wars: The Last Jedi it really made a number on the fans as it sparked a lot of heated discussions. Those were some strange days for Star Wars fan. There was a time when not a day went by without fans arguing about this movie and the backlash on social media was so strong and strong. Well, today I’ll open that door again because the director of the film, Rian Johnsonhe’s talking about it again, and says he’s more proud of the Star Wars film he has made more than ever.

The director explained in a recent interview with Empire Magazine:

“I’m even more proud of it five years later. When I was awake at bat, I really rocked the ball. I think it’s impossible for any of us to get close. Star Wars without thinking of this as a myth we grew up with, and how that myth, that story, has crept into us and influenced us. The final intent was not to undress: the intent was to arrive at the fundamental and fundamental power of the myth. And ultimately I hope the film is an affirmation of the power of the myth of Star Wars in our lives. “

One of the things fans seemed to hate about the film was the way Luke Skywalker was handled in the story. Even Marco Hamill he questioned himself! But Johnson is still behind how he handled the character and once again tried to explain his motivation behind him, saying:

“The final images of the film, for me, aren’t deconstructing the Luke Skywalker myth, they’re building it and it’s him embracing it. It is he who absolutely defies the notion of “Throw away the past” and embraces what really matters about his myth and what will inspire the next generation. So for me, the process of undressing is always in the interest of getting to something essential that really matters. “

Johnson certainly made the most controversial Star Wars movie and fans simply did not like it. The entire sequel trilogy was kind of a mess, though. When you watch those movies one after another, it just doesn’t work. Lucasfilm ruined the bed with that trilogy. They should have planned all those movies properly before they started shooting movies. But what’s done is done.

How do you feel about it The last Jedi after all this time has passed? What do you think of what Johnson has to say about it?
