Controversies over the merger of Warner Bros. Discovery have meant that the future of its streaming platform has been criticized by many of its subscribers. Now, David Zaslav’s new administration will look to create “less inclusive” content for HBO Max.

A recent investigation by The Daily Beast, in which they collected testimonials from several company employees, some of whom were laid off, claims that Warner’s new management wants to eliminate the “inclusion” Y “diversity” on HBOMaxand with it, presumably, it removes the voice of minorities, not only in its contents, but also in the workers of the company.

Media sources assure that the decision of Warner Bros. Discovery is because they want “more conservative viewers”. This measure has been called “racism”, “machismo” and “xenophobia” by some of the employees who have been laid off in recent weeks and which, according to the media, have mainly affected minorities.

Presumably, the last 70 layoffs at Warner Bros. Discovery mainly included people of color, members of the LGBT + community, and other minorities, leaving only white employees in the top positions of the company. In addition to revealing that the team that oversaw the content and acquisition of new shows was also fired.

The new focus on HBO Max content

Allegedly, one of the company’s former employees said that the cancellation of “Batgirl”, as well as other Warner Bros. Discovery productions, is due to HBO Max’s new focus on content: “They’re canceling a perspective that I don’t believe exists. when you watch Discovery-branded shows, “said an anonymous worker.

The former employee claims that the reasons “Batgirl” was canceled were because she is played by a Latin woman and is directed by two men of Moroccan descent. Two former executives spoke to The Daily Beast and said the priority now is to delete all types of content aimed at a diverse audience, such as “The Gordita Chronicles”.

So far there has been no response from Warner Bros. Discovery to their former employees’ allegations and allegations about their layoffs. Especially when the investigation comes after the recent delays of “Shazam 2” and “Aquaman 2” and the uncertainty with “The Flash”.
