Fans of the hit comic series Community have long been waiting for the next movie they’ve been asking for since the show ended in 2015. While cast members have made statements about the potential movie over the years, we finally have a concrete statement from the show’s creator, Dan Harmonthis week.
Harmon told Newsweek:
“There is a pattern for this. There is a product put together and launched into the world. I guess it’s so real. “
Harmon was reluctant to continue angering fans, however, adding:
“That’s probably enough to drive people crazy when [there’s nothing] in a year. It still doesn’t mean there will be a movie tomorrow. It means there will definitely be one. “
He went on to say:
“The fan who posts on ‘Community’ every day, how can you tell him: ‘Yes, it will definitely happen, but it could be between one and eight years from now’, and that’s how the industry works, especially when you factor in pandemics and what else, ”Harmon continued. “It feels like psychological torture, from a fan’s point of view, to keep looking in the back seat of a station wagon and say, ‘Who wants McDonald’s?’ And keep driving along the highway. I don’t want to be guilty of causing that feeling. It’s just that sometimes it takes so long. ”
What is still a few years at this point? As long as fans eventually have their “six seasons and one movie!”, I think everyone will be happy. What do you think of this next step that brings us closer to Community movie?
