The supernatural action comedy of 2013 RIPDwho starred Ryan Reynolds And Jeff Bridges, it may have been a terrible movie and a box office bomb, but it’s getting a sequel. The film is titled RIPD 2: Rise of the Damnedand it will be a version of Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.
There are no details on the story, but I think it’s a safe bet to say that Reynolds and Bridges won’t be returning to reprise their roles. They both have better things to do.
The film has not been formally announced, but is listed in this week’s MPAA rating bulletin and the film received a PG-13 rating for “sequences of violence, language, disturbing imagery, and some raw / sexual references.”
RIPD It is based on a comic strip and the first film follows two policemen sent by the Rest in Peace Department (RIPD) to protect and serve the living from increasingly destructive spirits lurking among the unsuspecting on Earth. “When they discover a storyline that could end life as we know it, new partners must turn reluctant respect into first-rate teamwork to restore cosmic balance … or look at the tunnel to the afterlife that starts sending angry souls the wrong way. “
I don’t expect much for the sequel, and even though it’s a Home Entertainment version, I’m still surprised that another movie has been made.
