In a recent video by TikTok, actor Giancarlo Espositobest known for his dramatic roles in The Mandalorian And breaking Bad, revealed that he had meetings with Marvel Studios executives. He also said he’d love to play Professor X in the MCU if given the chance, and now he’s given a little more insight into how he’d bring the classic comic book character to life.
In a recent appearance at Fan Expo Boston, ComicBook reported that Esposito explained that he would bring strength and grace to the beloved character, as well as portray him as someone who can inspire.
“I would play that character with strength, grace and calm. Someone who controls chaos but who also has the ability to uplift and inspire.”
In last week’s TikTok, Esposito said:
“So, I haven’t worked for Marvel yet. I’ve been in a room with them and I’ve talked to them, and to answer your question, I think what they do is along the lines of that mythological journey that Joe Campbell talked about, that he was a friend of George Lucas that George Lucas put into his stories. They do the same thing. So, they talked about Magneto, they talked about Doctor Freeze, they talked about who else are they talking about over there? Oh, Destiny ! And there’s Professor X. Pick one? I’ll go for something that’s a little different. I’ll go and let out into the universe that’s Professor X. “
I think Esposito would make a fantastic Professor X! He is such a captivating actor. I’d like to see him take on a big, robust role like this, and stay in the MCU for a while. What do you think? Esposito would be in the casting of your fans of a new one X-Men movie?
