In recent years, Netflix has been betting on series and films made in Mexico and in addition to having the premiere of several telenovelas on hand, the streaming platform has announced that it has planned the release of eight Mexican films that will fill its catalog of drama, comedy, mystery and black humor.
At the moment, none of the Mexican movies coming out on Netflix has a guaranteed release date; but the streaming platform has confirmed that it is a fact that in the near future they will be able to be seen in its catalog offering along with the rest of the television and film productions made in Mexico that can already be seen on its service.
The streaming company has revealed that, so far, it is planning the premiere of eight Mexican films and among these several stand out that have already aroused a lot of interest, such as the case of ‘I’m not going to ask anyone to believe me’by Fernando Frías de la Parra, the same director of the acclaimed and successful drama’ I’m Not Here ‘; in this case, it draws on the book of the same name by Juan Pablo Villalobos to bring his story to life on the small screen.
Although, on the other hand, he also highlighted the revelation of the first of ‘Invitation to a murder’with Maribel Verdú, Regina Blandón and Manolo Cardona; as well as Luis Estrada’s ¡Que Viva México, the same one who gave life to great Mexican films of social and political criticism such as ‘La Ley de Herodes’, ‘El Infierno’ and ‘La Dictadura Perfecta’.

At the moment, the details of each of these productions that Netflix has on their doorstep to launch on its streaming platform are unknown. However, it is possible that, in the following months, the company will finally share the first glimpses of each to learn more about their history and the day they will finally be available on the digital service.

Unlike the rest of the Mexican films Netflix has listed for its upcoming premiere, “I won’t ask anyone to believe me” has released its first glimpses. It is a series of behind-the-scenes images of this film, where you can see its director, Fernando Frías de la Parra, with part of the cast of the film.

For now we only know that ‘I will not tell anyone to believe me’ is taken from the book of the same name by Juan Pablo Villalobos, where the surrealist “adventures” of an ordinary young man trying to become a writer are narrated.
