“The Simpsons” already has 33 seasons behind it. The animated series has lived through it all throughout its long history. With so many chapters, it is normal that at some point they anticipated events that we then experience in the real world. But the writers’ ability to predict the future of the series is already legendary. And finally we will find out how they do it.

Well more or less. In an interview with Deadline, current “The Simpsons” showrunner Matt Selman explained that one of the next season’s episodes, number 34, will focus on that divinatory power: “We have a conceptual episode with a lot of crazy stuff, but it has an explanation of how “The Simpsons” can predict the future.”. Waiting to see it, hopefully it will be the spiritual sequel to the great “Behind laughter”.
Selman shared more news for next season, like that will have two episodes of “Tree House of Terror” instead of a single Halloween special. One of these will consist, as usual, of several short films, among which a parody of ‘Death Note’, and another will be an episode completely dedicated to the parody of ‘It’ with Krusty in the role of Pennywise.
Cameos by Simu Liu and Melissa McCarthy
One of the stellar cameos of the season also advances: Simu Liu. The “Shang-Chi” actor will play Lisa’s perfect boyfriend in the future. Melissa McCarthy will also be part of the new chapters as a girl who steals her grandfather’s heart, causing Homer to wonder why her father cares about her and not him. Krusty will star in another episode where he gets his own talk show and goes wrong. The first episode of the season will turn Homer into a conspiracy theorist.
The 34th season of “The Simpsons” will premiere in the United States on September 25th and will arrive later in Spain via Disney +.
