Shiny Shoe is an independent studio that won fans over with its title Monster train in 2020 and are now showing aspects of their next title Bound in ink.
This appears to be a very different beast as the focus is on cooperative play which mixes tactical and roguelike elements with a few things you might find in a MOBA or MMO. In the latest video, co-founder and CEO of Shiny Shoe, Marco Cookit shows players how combat works in the game, and while it’s turn-based, it’s meant to be hectic to keep everything moving.
Inkbound takes place in The Atheneum, a world that contains all the stories that have ever been written. Here, everything written in Ink can become real, such as nightmare carnivals, ancient ruins on the verge of volcanic annihilation, and more. The heroic Gatherer, charged with keeping these stories, can go anytime, anywhere as long as it’s written. And if not, perhaps they will create their own stories.
Fans can expect Bound in ink to reach Steam Early Access in 2023. What do you think of the combat system?
