With our eyes on the fifth and final season, “Stranger Things” has closed a fourth chapter that is more than excellent. Not only did it garner praise from critics and audiences, but it mitigated the catastrophe that the loss of subscribers meant for Netflix. However, in such a large series there is also room for controversy, which this time has been resolved by those responsible. The writers of “Stranger Things” have denied a rumor spread by GQ that they would have changed old scenes to reconfigure the characters. The magazine had to retract and publish its own news.

It was on Twitter, the social network where the Stranger Writers account (The writers of Stranger, so to speak) is quite active. “It’s hilarious that an article attacking the series for retroactively editing a scene (based on a fake TikTok rumor) has now had to retroactively edit their article”. The GQ article mentioned in the tweet bears the title “Netflix’s retroactive editing of ‘Stranger Things’ is the start of a dangerous television trend”. However, the authors were responsible for denying this information.

And he did it with another tweet to which they added a gif of Dustin saying “I swear on my mother”moment belonging to this last season. “The scenes from previous seasons have never been cut or re-edited. and it will never be done”.

This GQ article was based on an internet rumor that the creators of “Stranger Things” reprinted a Season 1 scene where Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton) photographs Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) without her consent. Some fans believed that part of the scene where Jonathan was photographing her undressing had been cut, removing her disgusting behavior. But apparently the scene never existed, so it’s a false rumor.
To rectify is wise
The title that GQ chose for his first article was “Let Jonathan Byers be a monster”defending the fact that the alleged opening scene was maintained so that the character did not see his narrative evolution altered.

The magazine immediately corrected it. “Correction: an earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that an episode of the first season of Stranger Things had been changed retroactively to remove a shot of Jonathan photographing Nancy while she was changing “.
