Universal Pictures has already dropped the bomb, never better said. “The world is changing. It’s your time”. Christopher Nolan returns to the cinema with ‘Oppenheimer’, a biopic about J. Robert Oppenheimer, inventor of the atomic bomb. The distributor debuted the first trailer of the film starring Cillian Murphy, and it’s pure intensity:
The teaser shows some images from the film, all in black and white, but let’s take a fresh look at Murphy wearing the scientist’s hat, which will apparently be a hallmark throughout the film. A countdown and a thunderous sound gradually bring us closer to the moment when the world has changed foreveras the advance says.

Cillian Murphy will be very well accompanied in the film, which brought together a spectacular cast. Emily Blunt will play Kitty Oppenheimer, the wife of the protagonist, who we hear in the trailer. Florence Pugh, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Josh Hartnett, Kenneth Branagh, Gary Oldman, Rami Malek, Gustaf Skarsgård, Olivia Thirlby, Scott Grimes, Dane DeHaan, Michael Angarano, Jason Clarke, David Dastmalchian, Alden Ehrenreich, Josh Peck, Casey Affleck, Alex Wolff, Tony Goldwyn, James D’Arcy, Devon Bostick, Emma Dumont, Ben Safdie, David Krumholtz, Matthias Schweighofer, Louis Lombard and Dylan Arnold are some of the names who didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to work with Christopher Nolan.
The director was also commissioned to write the screenplay, which is based on Kai Bird and Martin Sherwin’s “American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer”. “Oppneheimer” will be released in theaters on July 21, 2023 and is the first IMAX film shot in black and white.
