Marvel Studios had a big day at Comic-Con this weekend when they shared loads of trailers and footage of many of their upcoming shows. They also announced their epic plans over the course of the The saga of the multiverse. Kevin Feige revealed that the saga would end at the end of Phase 6 with two Avengers movies, Avengers: the Kang dynasty And Avengers: Secret Wars.
When those films were announced, fans immediately wondered if Thurs And Antonio Russo he would return to Marvel to direct them. Over the years they have said several times that they would return to directing Secret Wars if Marvel ever did. Well, Marvel is doing it, but Feige said the Russo Bros. aren’t involved in this. Here is the quote from him:
“[They are] not connected to it. They have been very direct on this. We love them. They love us. We want to find something to do together, but not this “.
I can’t say I’m surprised by this. The Russo Bros. have a lot going on and, at this point in their career, they don’t really need Marvel. But Marvel definitely needs them. They made some of the best Marvel movies in the franchise! That high level of directing and storytelling is definitely needed in these films. But I understand that they are not ready to return. Who knows, though, they might be involved in another unannounced film in Phase 6.
Speaking previously on Secret Wars, Joe Russo said, “You know, I read it when I was 10 or 11, and it was the ladder to bring all the heroes together. It was one of the first great books to do that – for me it was really. storytelling at its best. And what happens when you put all those personalities together. I also like the idea that villains have to team up with heroes. Anth and I love complicated relationships between heroes and villains, we like villains who they believe they are heroes in their own stories, so it’s all somehow integrated into this notion of Secret Wars. Performing something on the scale of Infinity War was directly related to the Secret Wars dream, which is even larger in scale. “
He also previously stated: “We are in a unique position in our career where we can choose what we want to do. Cinema is a business and when you make money for people, you can use the value of the brand and the prestige. That you get out of it for. carry out more personal projects.
Secret Wars was Marvel’s first major crossover event series and made its debut in 1984. The title was used again for a series in 2015.
The Secret Wars story centered on Marvel’s greatest heroes and villains being transported to Battleworld thanks to a powerful being known as the Beyonder. It is on Battleworld that the heroes and villains could decide once and for all whether good or evil was the major force.
The most recent Secret Wars the comic saw a new Battleworld that was created from the remnants of several alternate reality timelines in the Marvel Comics multiverse. This looks like it might be the best path for the MCU with the event of Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness breaking the multiverse, which has been confirmed.
However Marvel decides to tell this story, there is no doubt that it will be extremely epic.
