Focus Features acquired the director’s distribution rights Wes Andersonthe next film project of City of asteroidsand they will handle the national distribution of the film while Universal International will handle the overseas.
Anderson’s latest film is described as “a poetic meditation on the meaning of life”. It tells the story of “a fictional American desert city around 1955 and its Junior Stargazer convention, which brings together students and parents from across the country for academic competition, rest / recreation, comedy, drama, romance and more.”
Yes, it definitely looks like a Wes Anderson movie! The film comes with a stellar cast that includes Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Ed Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe , Margot Robbie, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryan, Grace Edwards, Aristou Meehan, Sophia Lillis, Ethan Lee, Jeff Goldblum, Rita Wilson and many others.

I like the movies that Anderson makes. I know they’re not for everyone, but they always and always amuse me.
