“The Bridgertons” announces three new actors and the start of filming for the third season

Lady Whistledown already has pen, paper and ink more than ready. Netflix has announced that filming has already begun on the third season of “The Bridgertons”, the adaptation of Julia Quinn’s novels which this time will feature Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). The series is filming again in London and its actors and actresses have sent in this video celebrating a new season of courtship in British high society:

In addition to the happy news that “The Bridgertons” is back on track, the streaming platform also announced that they are adding three new actors to the cast. Daniel Francis (“Once Upon a Time”) will be Marcus Anderson, a man of great charisma and capable of making friends (and enemies) quite quickly. Sam Phillips (“The Crown”) will play Lord Debling, a wealthy noble (and thus a good couple) but rather eccentric. And James Phoon (“Harry Potter and the Curse”) will become Harry Dankworth, a very handsome but dull young man.

The busy life of Penelope Featherington

According to the official synopsis of the third season, Penelope has decided to turn the page and forget a possible romance with Colin. She will offer to help her find a husband. Penelope thinks it’s time to get married and become independent from her family. In addition to the stress of finding a partner, she has yet to resolve her quarrel with Eloise (Claudia Jessie), who is making new friends. And as if all of that wasn’t enough, she too has her double life as Lady Whistledown, and this hectic social life she wants to lead her will make her chronicler’s job rather difficult.

The new chapters of “The Bridgertons” do not yet have a release date on Netflix. This season will continue to have Shondaland as a producer, but Chris Van Dusen is no longer the showrunner and is replaced by Jess Brownell. Van Dusen, who was responsible for the first two seasons, will executive produce along with Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Tom Berica and Brownell herself. All cast members are expected to return along with Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton. Well, everyone except Regé-Jean Page, who still doesn’t want to return.
