
Netflix recently released a trailer for their upcoming anime movie Adrift around the house. From Studio Colorido (Penguin Highway), this film sees two childhood friends who grew up in the same condominium that is now destined to be demolished, embark on a crazy adventure as that condominium one day ends up floating in the sea. Hiroyasu Ishida directs the film with a script of himself and Hayashi Mori. The voice cast includes Mutsumi Tamura, Asami Seto, Daiki Yamashita, Yumiko Kobayashi, Inori MinasiAnd Kana Hanazawa.
Raised as brother and sister, Kosuke and Natsume have been friends since childhood, but their relationship begins to deteriorate in sixth grade after the death of Kosuke’s grandfather, Yasutsugu. One day, during their summer vacation, Kosuke and his classmates sneak into a supposedly demolished apartment complex that is said to be haunted by ghosts. Both Kosuke and Natsume grew up there so the place holds many memories for them. There, Kosuke runs into Natsume and is asked if he knows the mysterious Noppo. But suddenly, they get caught up in a mysterious phenomenon. When they regain consciousness, they see a vast ocean ahead of them. As the apartment complex drifts into a mysterious sea with Kosuke and the others aboard, they team up to try to survive. There are tears and struggles, and perhaps even reconciliation. Will they be able to return to their former world? A summer farewell journey begins …
It looks like a very intense growth movie. you can watch Adrift around the house on Netflix starting September 16.
