Marvel Thor: Love and thunder it has received a lot of mixed reviews from Marvel fans, and it’s understandable. While I liked the film, it certainly had its problems. Some fans are even saying they think Thor: The Dark World it’s actually a better movie, which is amazing to hear.
There was a lot of footage from the film that was shot that ended up on the editing room floor. Some of those videos were present Jeff Goldblum like the Grand Master, Peter Dinklage like Eitri, e The game of thorns star Lena Headey it also had to appear. The actress was actually sued by her talented former agent for the cut scene.
In a recent interview with Insider, the director Taika Waititi explained the reasoning behind the deleted scenes, saying:
“I wrote the thing so that when you cut something it’s a bit of a challenge to yourself because you’re like, ‘Am I not that good? Should I have seen it coming?’ But every movie I’ve done probably cut the same amount. When you go into the montage you never know. One scene alone might be the funniest or most intriguing thing, but sometimes those things if you keep them inside will just make the movie stop. So you have to do what’s best for the movie. “
This is funny because some of the scenes that went through the final cut of the film weren’t the best for the film. With all the footage that Waititi shot for the film, there’s probably a better cut somewhere. We will never see it, though. Waititi has no interest in doing a Director’s Cut.
When asked specifically about Goldblum, Dinklage and Headey being cut from the film, the director said:
“If you ask any of those actors who were left out – Jeff Goldblum, Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage – they all understand how it works. They’ve been in the game long enough. But that’s just the way I look at things.”
However, Headey’s talented former agent doesn’t seem to feel the same way. Regardless, it would be nice to see all of these deleted scenes from the movie finally released as part of the special features of the home video release. But Waititi won’t let us! He’s keeping all that extra footage under lock and key:
“I’m not going to give you a moment because that’s my way of telling you, like, people say, ‘I can’t wait for the deleted scenes with those actors. I don’t want people to see the deleted scenes because they were deleted for a while. reason: they’re not good enough. The scenes weren’t in the movie and that’s it. “
