Antonio Ryan’S The shadow of the crow the fantasy book series was acquired by Paolo Telegdyis the production company The Whole Spiel and they will adapt the stories into a TV series. Books in the series include Fire Queen, Raven’s shadow, Raven blade, Song of blood, And Lord of the Tower. The series will be developed with the working title Fire Queen.
The series “will follow the legends, worlds and characters created by author Anthony Ryan in both the Raven’s Shadow trilogy and the Raven’s Blade duology books, as well as collections of short stories.”
The story follows a character named Lyrna, a enslaved princess “who, despite her father’s malicious manipulations, rises to lead an empire to uncover the truth about the forbidden powers of the Dark; Reva, a young woman, born to her privilege, stolen from her loving home, raised to kill and blinded by revenge; and “Woman,” as she is simply known, is a cruel, ruthless and utterly unrepentant soul in the body of a beautiful woman with an insatiable lust for power that will stop at nothing for the promise of immortality.
“The series also features Vaelin, a legendary warrior, servant of faith, possessor of a gift, known as ‘The Blood Song’, a form of foreknowledge, who guides his sword into battle and shows him the right path if he chooses to take it. Frentis, who grew up on the street alone, is helpless against The Woman’s magic and is forced to kill innocent people and those he once served. He possesses a quest for revenge, which could see him lose the last remnants of the kind soul he once was. “
