Thor: Ragnarok it was a great movie and a hard Marvel movie to follow. While I enjoyed myself to death Thor: Love and thunderit wasn’t as good as Thor: Ragnarok. It could have been! But I think the director was a little TOO silly in places, and those moments pulled me out of the movie.
With Love and thunder out this week, director Taika Waititi he talks about the movie and in a way he admits it’s not that good Ragnaroksaying to Rolling Stone: “In a way, I would like to Ragnarok it wasn’t that good. Because this is a difficult film to follow ”.
Really! I think she did a great job, though. I loved the story that Love and thunder said. The director went on to say, “Why are you promising things like, ‘Oh, it’s going to be crazy. It’s going to be bigger. It’s going to be louder.’ I mean, I think it is. We have a Viking ship crossing space with two giant goats towing it. . And two Thor and Russell Crowe. So what could be crazier than that this summer? ”
It is definitely a crazier movie! But overdoing the madness made it a better movie. Waititi continued: “What I wanted to do, push it in a different direction, was make it romantic. They touched on the romantic stuff a little bit in the first two movies, but they didn’t really lean on the love aspect. And I was like, well, we have saw Thor in that great [Jack] The Kirby style world of all colors and pop art Ragnarok. What would fans expect less? Thor in love! What do the fans not want? Thor in love! What would really piss the fans off? And we are doing it. ”
I like Waitti’s lively and fun sense of humor and I think fans will appreciate Thor: Love and thunder. Take fans on a crazy, crazy ride! You can read my review of the film here.
