Thurs And Antonio Russo alias The Russo brothers they made their mark on the MCU when they directed two Captain America film and the huge finale in two films of the Infinity saga with Avengers: Infinity War And Avengers: End of the game. Those movies were all really cool and epic and made fans wonder when the Russos would return to make more Marvel titles.
In a recent interview with AP Entertainment (via CB), the couple were asked about a possible return and said:
“We’re always open to that. We love those guys. We love everyone over there. Kevin [Feige]Louis [D’Esposito]Victory [Alonso], The actors. Right now, we are focusing on AGBO. Right now, our list is pretty full. The electrical state, Battle of the planets, The gray man…. look where The gray man goes from here. Hopefully the public will like it. ”
He added that “never say never” and if the right storyline has arrived, you have to take it into consideration. When asked if they would be interested in creating a new version of the X-Men, Joe Russo revealed that the X-Men was one of his favorite comic books, saying:
“One of my most valuable assets is Incredible Hulk # 181, which is Wolverine’s first appearance, is a big part of my comic collection. Wolverine is so central to the X-Men, of course. It would be a fun project to work on and find a new way to do it. ”
Joe Russo has speculated that the X-Men are a project that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has overshadowed to introduce new characters, such as Shang-Chi and the Eternals. So maybe timing could work? I have a feeling we’ll be hearing a lot more about the future of the MCU, including the X-Men franchise, and possibly the return of the Russo Brothers in a few weeks to San Diego Comic-Con!
