Although a weekend in Madrid was delayed by NATO, this Saturday, July 2, the Pride 2022 parade is celebrated in other cities, such as London and right in the march of the British city the casting of the Netflix series ‘Heartstopper’ met. Joe Locke, Jenny Walser, Kit Connor, Sebastian Croft, Tobie Donovan, Corinna Brown and Kizzy Edgell were marching with the crowd of people celebrating Pride when they joined a group of elders who were demonstrating with hate messages against the LGTBIQ + collective. Come on, homophobes.

As we can see in this video posted on Twitter by reporter Scott Beasley, a guy tries to snatch one of the men from one of his banners while another calls a police officer and several people pull him to separate him from the fence. While he couldn’t get his mark off, Locke, Croft and Brown from “Heartstopper” also opposed them by dancing with their flags, singing Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)” and having a good manga cut, even though Croft ended up blowing them kisses.

“Heartstopper stars when anti-LGBT protesters confront a young Pride supporter.”

Speaking to the BBC, Locke told the outlet it was his first time participating in pride and that it was “a great honor to celebrate being queer when the world may not accept it.” This year’s London parade marks the 50th anniversary of the UK’s first Pride protest, led in 1972 by the Gay Liberation Front.

In addition to likely seeing them together again in the two seasons of “Heartstopper” that Netflix has already confirmed will arrive, Joe Locke and William Gao, Tao Xu in the series, have another project in common: Dawn’s comedy “The Trials” King. The script is set in the near future where a young jury judges the older generations for their response to climate change. They will share the stage with Nigel Lindsay and Sharon Small, who are among the defendants. There will be shows from 12 to 27 August Monday to Saturday at London’s Donmar Warehouse.
