It was an incredibly fun surprise to see John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic in Marvel Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness. This is a casting that fans have wanted to see for years and eventually got it. But things turned out in a way that no one expected when he was murdered directly by the Scarlet Witch.
Director Sam Raimi recently talked about how Krasinski ended up in the film playing this character. Raimi shared in the film’s audio commentary:
“It’s so funny [Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige] chose John because fans dreamed of who the perfect Reed Richards would be. And since this is an alternate universe, I think Kevin said, “Let’s make that dream come true.” I have always enjoyed all of his performances. “
With Raimi pointing out that they cast Krasinski for the role because this was “an alternate universe”, there’s a good chance we won’t see Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic again. Marvel Studios may have different casting plans for the Fantastic Four films they are developing. We will see.
Film writer Michele Waldron he also shared in the audio commentary that the film originally had a much darker ending. he says, “Strange gets trapped in this [incursion] universe. And then [Sinister Strange] turns and the third eye opens. ”
You enjoyed seeing Krasinski as the fantastic mister Strange Doctor 2? Who would you want to see play the character if Marvel doesn’t use him in the solo Fantastic Four movie?
