Team 17 has announced a new game inspired by the horror comedies of the 80s / 90s, Killer frequency. Coming later this year in Meta Quest 2 and Steam via flat screen mode, Killer frequency will put you in the shoes of a radio DJ who takes turns in the cemetery in Central America.
Unfortunately for you, there’s a serial killer on the loose you’ll need to help callers escape. Get clues from caller conversations and solve puzzles in the cabin to help them survive the night. But don’t forget to carry on the radio show with a retro 80s-inspired soundtrack.
There isn’t much in the trailer to see how well they’ve done the look of the game, but the concept looks really fun. I love the idea of branching dialogue working with puzzles in the studio to help people survive the night.
Of course, having him fully voiced will help add to the atmosphere of the game. Honestly, it sounds like the exact kind of horror game VR was supposed to be used for. No release date yet, but you may wish to list it on Steam now.
