Trailer for the Broadway musical film MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG starring Daniel Radcliffe and Jonathan Groff

A trailer has been released for the Broadway musical-turned-movie We cheerfully proceedstarring Tony Award winners Daniel Radcliffe, Jonathan GroffAND Lindsay Mendeznext to Kristal Joy Brown, Katie Rose ClarkAND Reg Rogers. The musical was written by the great Stephen Sondheim, who gave us some of the greatest musicals of the last century, including History of the West Side, In the woods, Sweeney Toddand more. This film is a recording of the latest edition of the Broadway show, directed by Maria Friedmann.

The synopsis reads: “Across 3 decades, Merrily We Roll Along traces the turbulent relationship between composer Franklin Shepard and his two lifelong friends: novelist Mary and lyricist and playwright Charley.

“First produced on Broadway in 1981, then becoming a creative cult classic ahead of its time, the musical features some of Stephen Sondheim’s most celebrated and personal songs.

“The 2023-2024 Broadway production, directed by Maria Friedman, has redefined the show for a new era, bringing Stephen Sondheim’s intricate score and George Furth’s book to life with extraordinary depth and clarity.”

I’m a huge fan of Broadway and Sondheim musicals, but I’ve never had the chance to see this show. It’s so good that they’re releasing it in theaters for fans to enjoy.
