The synopsis for Henry Cavill’s Restart of Highlander makes fun of an epic battle for the soul of humanity

There is a lot of excitement around Highlanderthe long -awaited restart from John Wick director Chad Stahelski. Fans of the original 1986 film already know the story of Immortal Warriors blocked in an infinite struggle, but this new version promises to expand that mythology in enormous ways.

Henry Cavill will enter the role of Connor Macleod, with Dave Bautista Set to play the ruthless Kurgan. The story will revisit the secular feud of Connor with his companions Immortals, a battle in which the power of every fallen warrior is absorbed by the winner, because in the end, there can be only one.

Thanks to the insider Daniel Richtman, now we have the first official synopsis for Stahelski HighlanderAnd it seems that the stakes are higher than ever in this story:

“Centuries after his first death on a Scottish battlefield, the immortal warrior Connor Macleod lives in silence in the modern world, persecuted by the loss and infinite cycle of violence between its kind. When the ruthless immortal Kurgan recurred alone.

“Guided by his mentor Ramírez and a mortal ally, the archaeologist Kate Bennett, Connor has to face his past and rediscover his purpose. While the immortals collide over time and on continents, the struggle for the mysterious” prize “becomes a battle for the soul of humanity.”

It seems rather epic. The distinctive style of Stahelski of artisan and visceral action should be perfectly translated into a story that covers centuries and continents.

The cast is preparing to be equally strong. Marisa Abela he should play Kate Bennett, while Russell Crowe He will take on the role of Ramírez. Cavill is driving the charge, although the production was briefly delayed after suffering an injury during training.

Stahelski previously spoke of how this highlander will expand beyond what fans remember from the original film.

“We are carrying it out from the early 1500s in the Highlands to New York and Hong Kong beyond the current, and seeing how it goes. There is a great opportunity for action.

“There is the possibility of playing a character who not many people can play. And it’s a bit of a love story, but not as you think. On John Wick, I learned a lot about how to bend the narration a little.”

He also revealed how he launched the project in Cavill:

“My strong point was, a [Cavill]Look, you have a guy who has been alive for over 500 years. He is the last person in the world who wanted to be in this situation.

“So you can cover a great diffusion of an arc of character there. And you can experience someone who is trained over 500 years and somehow played [with many types of] martial arts. “

The film, written by Michael Finchboasts an impressive ensemble that also includes Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Max ZhangAND Drew McIntyre.

With its mixture of swords, mythology and timeless action, Highlander It seems that it will offer a new intense and emotional interpretation of an iconic fantasy saga. Stahelski’s talent to elaborate visually stunning and guided combat by the plot could make this restart of the definitive version for a new generation of fans.

The film should not arrive in cinemas until 2027 or 2028, but I’m excited to see how it will end.
