Del Toro shared nine new photos on X, showing both his cast among the filming and, above all, the incredible miniature work built for the film.
The images reveal attempting courtyards, huge machinery and towering buildings, all built on a small scale to look huge on the screen.
It is the classic Magic film, the type that makes you forget what you are seeing is handmade. When you watch the movie, you would never know that these sets were miniatures, but they are absolutely.
The craftsmanship on display is exactly what we would expect from Del Toro, a director who dedicated his life to the creation of cinematographic worlds with obsessive attention to detail.
It is notoriously known for taking care of an entire second home just to keep his collections of memorabilia, mythology and cinematographic art, so seeing him embrace the practical effects on Frankenstein feels perfectly in line with his creative spirit.
Next to miniature sets, the new photos of Del Toro include a surprising blow of Oscar IsaacWho says is channeling the legendary horror artist Bernie Wrightson, as well as another image on the set of Isaac in the character.
There is also a wonderfully enlightened photo of the director of photography Dan Laustsen who works his profession and a moody shot of My Goth Keeping a skull, living fully to its Gothic reputation.
Written and directed by Del Toro and based on the timeless novel by Mary Shelley, Frankenstein also stars Jacob Elordi As a creature, Felix Kammerer, David Bradley, Lars MikkelsenAND Cristiano Converywith Charles Dance AND Christoph Waltz.
Frankenstein It opens in theaters selected on October 17 before persecuting Netflix on November 7th.
