Natural documentaries already have an integrated sense of terror. We tune in to know the beauty of the wildlife, but what is usually based are those moments that are shaking while the assassins that tear in seals for children, lions collide in violent battles and spiders that are too big for the comfort of anyone.
Horror Powerhouse Blumhouse is taking that primordial fear and pushing her beyond with Nightmares of natureA new series of chilling documentaries arriving in Netflix.
A collaboration between Blumhouse Television and Pimsoll Productions, the series will be narrated by Stranger things star Maya Hawke.
Netflix is describing the project as a “series of natural and horror history”, which did not hold back when it comes to the dangers of the animal kingdom. According to the official press release, “each season follows three animal characters who face all the horrors and monsters that nature can launch them”.
The series will be launched with two seasons. Each season includes three 45 minutes episodes and Netflix has just dropped a trailer that has a preview of what is in store with “A Cabin in the Woods” and “Lost in the Jungle”.
The first season, “A cabin in the woods”, comes on September 30th.
