The story focuses on James Fisher (Montgomery), a man whose apparently perfect life begins to reveal when his relationship with his business partner Andrea (Boutella) is discovered by his husband Cliff (Robbins).
What follows is a chilling ultimatum. James must commit a murder or look at his entire world to collapse. Captured in a dangerous game of blackmail and psychological manipulation, he turns to his therapist Dr. Torre (Lane), without realizing that he could hide his secrets.
Anderson is enthusiastic about the project, saying: “Peter’s fantastic screenplay appears all the boxes for me. The way he combines a study led by the character with a paranoid thriller reminds me of what excited me for my films The cars, session 9 and fracture.
“And with this fantastic cast-in particular Tim Robbins, whose scale of Jacob inspired my first love for this genre-so that we will be able to deliver a first-rate commercial film.”
Highland Film Group will supervise international sales, with Caa Media Finance that manages internal rights. The production should start in the United Kingdom at the beginning of 2026.
