“Lance wanted to do it, but he couldn’t because he had another show, and therefore I had to find another actor,” Gunn continued. “Chukwudi has arrived and has just had a completely different vision of the character. I think it was probably the best performance than season 1.

“Someone like Chuk has just found a way. Nothing has changed in the dialogue that the character said, but the way he approached was the way he got that role.”

It is certainly one of the many roles that Reddick would have taken and was excellent. Fortunately, Iwuji is also a great actor and has been able to fill the great shoes left behind.
