The first wave of reactions for The long walk has landed and if the initial praise is indicative, we are looking at one of the strongest Stephen King Adaptations to date. Directed by Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games franchise), this chilling and emotionally loaded dystopian thriller is hitting the audience right in the intestine.

Based on the first written novel by King, The long walk It tells the story of an annual cruel event in which 50 teenagers are forced to walk tirelessly through a dystopian America. If their speed drops below three miles per hour, they are performed on the spot. There is no rest, do not go back, walk only until one remains standing. That survivor wins and will never worry about anything again.

Critics call The long walk “Brutal”, “Solucing Soul” and “one of the best adaptations of Stephen King” ever made. They praised the intense emotional weight of the film, his shocking moments and the powerful chemical among the leads Cooper Hoffman AND David Jonsson. Many have described it as “visceral”, “compelling” and “unforgettable”.

While King fans know how his book adaptations can be, Lawrence seems to have broken the code here. Social media are illuminating with extraordinarily positive reactions after the first screening.

This adaptation has passed a long time. Over the years, directors like it George A. Romero AND Frank Darabont I tried to give life to history but never came through the finish line. Now, Lawrence, working on a script of JT Mollnerhas finally delivered.

Hamill assumes the chilling role of the eldest, and is credited Mike Flanagan for turning it off in a darker territory.

According to the cast, they walked close to 300 miles during filming to capture the real physical and emotional balance of history.
