After years of devastation happily by triggering as one of the most unbridled characters of modern television, Antony Starr He officially hung the cloak. With The boys By wrapping production in his fifth and last season, Starr brought to Instagram to reflect on his journey playing the terrifying and twisted homelander.
“Difficult (for me) to express in words which was an incredible race. How much life and growth happened. How surprising the team is. It was really the highlight of my career,” wrote Starr.
“When we started, I had no idea what he was going. This Juggernaut left the station and never stopped. Except that moment covered. Oh and the strikes. That too was one thing.
“But apart from those two times, he never stopped, leaving the mark on the television landscape boldly. There is nothing else like.
Starr shared a handful of photos behind the scenes and thanked almost all those who made the show possible. “For the incredible Canadian troupe. The Amazing Production Team. The foolish cast of talent.
“The people of Amazon and Sony who took the opportunity for this crazy thing (and made the great choice in launching me in me) and all the other people who contributed in some way, large or small, to this beautiful, complex, deformed, delicious show.”
Homeland was one of the most compelling bad guys on TV and Starr clearly appreciated every moment to interpret it. “This complicated character allowed the space and the range to discover and push the boundaries in a way that I would never have expected and I will always be grateful for this experience,” he said.
He also gave a heartfelt nod to showrunner Eric KripkeSaying: “We created a monster, Lord. And I will miss you, and you. Until the last season. When I see you. But this creative chapter is closed and I will miss, brother.”
And of course, there was a cry for the fans: “Thanks to the fans. You are the blood of life. Without you, we cannot do it. And our fans are not second to anyone. Happy love for you … and the deepest respect for your tastes.”
He signed with: “Okidoke People. We cooked for the last time. I can’t wait to show you what we did. Until that day, Homelander, signing.”
The boys Debluato in 2019 and quickly became a great success for Amazon Prime Video, gaining critical applause and multiple Emmy nominations including the exceptional dramatic series. While season 5 will not go until next year, fans can immerse themselves in the twisted world of Overs with the second season of the spin -off series series Gen V.which is previewed on September 17th.
So prepare one last time. The final chapter of The boys He is coming and Homelander is coming out with a bang.
