As Variety writes, it took the involvement of Jamie Adams himself to convince Quentin Tarantino to take a break from his reclusive life and participate in the filming of “Only What We Carry With Us.”
He will star alongside Quentin Tarantino, Simon Pegg, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Liam Hellman and Lizzie McAlpine. The film was shot in Deauville, France, over six days in late September, with a minimal budget and improvised scenes. In the experimental film set on the windswept coast of Normandy, Pegg plays “Julian Jones, a once formidable instructor whose former student Charlotte Levant (Boutella) returns home to confront the ghosts of her past.”
They are joined by Quentin Tarantino as John Percy, Julian’s old friend whose sudden appearance awakens long-buried memories. As the director shares: “I always dreamed of making an Eric Rohmer-style film in Normandy, and that dream involved collaborating with an incredible international cast and crew. Thanks to the freedom of independent film, that dream turned out to be a reality, and I’m forever grateful to the film’s cast and crew.”
Quentin Tarantino has previously talked about which films he was born to create.
