Mark Hamill almost retired from live acting after Skywalker’s rise, then Mike Flanagan called

When you think Mark Hamillthink Star Wars. Luke Skywalker is one of the most iconic characters in the history of cinema and Hamill has been a force in entertainment for decades, from successful films to legendary vocal roles such as The Joker.

It would have been a suitable exit, closing a character who called generations. But just as Hamill was ready to pack him, director Mike Flanagan came to the call.

Now, Hamill is preparing for another Stephen King project: The long walkdirected by Francis Lawrence. He plays the major and a ruthless figure in the dystopian thriller and the fans had a peek for the intensity that leads to the role of the comic-con.

The long walk Connect the theaters on September 12, 2025. For someone who almost moved away from live acting, Hamill is showing that he has still remained in abundance in the tank.
