Adult Swim has dropped a new wild stop-motion promo for Rick and Morty Season 8 that puts poor Morty in the middle of a clay chaos.
The short film was created by the Swedish sculptor and director Guldies (Alex Unger), who gave life to Morty in the most hilariously embarrassing way possible.
By sharing his excitement on social media, Guldies said: “I had the opportunity to animate a Stop-Motion promo for the Season 8 of Rick and Morty!? A dream become reality and I want to thank everyone in the social team of Adult Swim for the opportunity and support”.
He added: “I spent a lot of time building the set and I couldn’t stop working on it. It was so fun to sculpt all the small gadgets and reimgate the Ricks garage in 3D. I absolutely want to bring this way of working in my personal projects.
“Everything was animated in 12 fps dragrams, using a Canon Eos 5d Mark II. I used a lot of clay from Jovi, super sculpey, miniature wooden axes, different types of cardboard, acrylic paint and patience.”
Animation is an eccentric twisting and handmade on the usual madness of the show, perfectly capturing Morty’s talent to stumble in trouble.
