The fantastic director Quattro clarifies his comment on Reed Richards at the helm of The Avengers

When The Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman I recently talked about the evolution of Reed Richards, the fans became wild thinking they had confirmed it Pedro PascalMr. Fantastic would take care of the most powerful heroes of the earth Avengers: Doomsday. It turns out that it is not exactly what he meant.

In a previous interview, Shakman described Reed’s journey:

“He passes from being the Nerd scientist who is blocked in the laboratory, to the husband and father who would have done anything to protect his family, to the boy who guides the avengers. I realized that the version we were building had to have all those elements.”

That line on “Driving the Avengers” had the internet in Meltdown mode, but Shakman has now clarified what he really meant in a recent chat with Screen Rant.

“I was talking about Reed Richards in the comics and how Reed Richards is sometimes the cerebral scientist. Sometimes he is out of the guidance of the avengers, sometimes he is a father, a husband, whatever. So I was talking about him in the comics and how there are so many different aspects in that character.

“Someone who is credibly the most intelligent man in the universe, someone who will jump into action and will be credible as a leader. And also someone who has that emotional connection with their family. And that’s why I have been attracted to Pedro, such an incredible actor.”

He added:

“Then what he does Avengers: Doomsday It is not for me to speak, speaks with Joe or Anthony. I was just talking about reading the comics and how I was understanding who could interpret it at best. “

Pedro Pascal Also during an interview with Entertainment Weekly to support Shakman.

“Matt was talking about a Reed Richards who, inside the avengers’ comics, the fantastic four are brought to the Avengers and Reed is commissioned to lead a mission, but it is different from what we are doing. So I think what Matt said on Reed and the comic was eliminated by the context.”

So, while the Reed comic has already guided the avengers, it seems that the MCU version of Mr. Fantastic is not about to hit and take the reins from the most powerful heroes of the earth, at least not yet.

What do you think, would you like to see Reed Richards by Pascal guide the avengers along the road or should he stick to keep the fantastic four together?
