Head of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige officially confirmed what many fans hoped, Sacha Baron Cohen’S Mephisto is not a unique bad. After making his debut IronheartMarvel Comics’s iconic character is here to stay.
In a recent press event to which the Wandavision.
“He has never been part of Wandavision. We talked about it. Matt talked about it. Jack Schaefer’s speech on this. It was never part of Wandavision. But the enthusiasm with which he was theorized was certainly beautiful and fun to look at.
“And it is another character who, pre-mcu, would have been difficult to do. He is a devil. How do you do that character? But he is a training character. It was a large part of the plot of Thanos in the comics. So now, now that it is here, the potential is clear.”
When he pressed if Marvel plans to present Mephisto more in the future, Feige kept him short and sweet: “Yes.”
First appearance in The Silver Surfer #3 In 1968, Mephisto has always been one of Marvel’s most sinister bad guys. Originally a Nemesis for Silver Surfer and Ghost Rider, later he was tangled with Spider-Man and even played an important role in the vision and comic plots of Scarlet Witch.
That story is the reason why so many fans were convinced that they had something to do with WandavisionBut now we know that it has never been like this.
Instead, Mephisto has finally made his debut in MCU IronheartWith Cohen who enters the role in the final of the series. The plot saw Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) Take an agreement with the devil himself, a move that creates some fascinating possibilities for the future.
It is interesting to note that Thorne admitted that he did not even know Cohen’s character during filming, suggesting that Marvel wanted to maintain revelation under the compresses.
With Ironheart closing phase 5 e The Fantastic Four: First Steps Set to launch phase 6, the MCU is entering a new era and Mephisto could play an important role in modeling it. But we will only expect to wait and see.
Now that Mephisto officially part of the MCU, the door is wide open to arouse chaos through multiple plots.
