David Fincher’s Mindhunter series could return as a film trilogy; Writers are working on us

It was a long and frustrating road for Mindhunter fan. David FincherThe series of psychological crime obsessively detailedly seemed to disappear in Netflix’s void after its second season, despite the critical applause and a passionate fan base.

Since 2019, the spectators have been left to wonder if they would ever get the closure or an adequate ending. Now, we finally have a flicker of hope … with a turning point.

In a new conversation with CBR, Holt McCallannywho played the special agent Bill Tench, shared the most encouraging update we have heard for years and, although it is not the third season, they could be three two -hour films.

“So look, you know, I had a meeting with David Fincher in his office a few months ago, and he told me that there is the possibility that he can return like three two hours films, but I think it is only a possibility. I know there are writers who are working, but you know, David must be happy with the scripts.”

While this is not a certain thing, there is the possibility Mindhunter Returning as a film trilogy, which is now officially on the table. For fans who have been blocked in cancellation limbo, this is great news.

Mindhunter It has never seemed like a large budget beast, but Fincher’s standards and cinematographic approach made the expected spectacle to produce, and this is part of the reason why Netflix pulled the plug.

The fact that writers are currently working on potential signs of scripts that Fincher is seriously exploring this idea. And even if in the end Netflix says no, there is still a possibility that these films can find a home elsewhere. The streaming landscape has moved and more than some high profile shows have skipped the platforms to finish.

Of course, nothing is still enlightened, but I love the idea that Mindhunter It could return to the form of a two -hour films. It is the type of narrative format that could actually adapt to the methodical pace of the show.
