A new Harold & Kumar Film for Lionsgate’s Mandate Pictures is in progress from Cobra Kai creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg AND Josh Heald. Hurwitz and Schlossberg will direct from a written script with Heald.
The project marks an opportunity for the whole circle for the trio, which started their career with the Stoner’s Buddy Comedie franchise. After writing the original film of 2004, Harold and Kumar go to the white castlethey continued to make their debut to the direction with Harold & Kumar Escape Guantanamo Bay In 2008.
The Leads of the franchise, John Cho AND Kal PennI haven’t closed business yet but they are expected to return. No word still on further casting possibilities. Hurwitz, Schlossberg and Heald will produce for the counterbalanced entertainment banner, together with the veteran of the Greg Shapiro franchise; Mandate, which has supported the films to date; and Nathan Kahane, president of the Lionsgate film group.
Earn a sequel to cult from the launch in the early 2000s, the Harold & Kumar The franchising focuses on Harold Lee (Cho) and Kumar Patel (Penn), two friends who undertake absurd adventures while under the influence of marijuana.
While the first film, Harold and Kumar go to the white castleIt was only a modest success in cinemas, it exploded on DVD, leading to sequels including Harold & Kumar Escape from the bay of Guantanamo AND A very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas.
