Speaking with Collider, Tartakovsky has made fun of what fans can expect from the ambitious chapter of the next show:
“It is a new level. Everything we did in the first season, we got up a little in the second season and the third season is even more.
“I can’t say anything without giving everything, but it is only more, and it is shocking, and it is unstoppable. At a certain point, you are like, ‘I can’t believe he is looking at him.'”
The production in season 3 was confirmed last year, but Adult Swim officially announced to the Annecy Animation Festival that the new season will be previewed in 2026, and although there will be no great revelation at the Comic-Con next month, Tartakovsky has hinted that the New York Comic-Con in October is when the marketing campaign will really begin.
The new direction of the show is not coming out of nowhere. Fans could remember the autonomous episode of season 2, “The Primal Theory”, which has moved away from Spear and Fang to explore different ideas and eras. That episode was not just one -off, it was a test.
Tartakovsky continued.
“As regards the quality, as regards animation, as regards history, emotionally, I don’t want to overcome it, but I have rarely been proud of a project like this.
‘”In the end, we will have these 30 episodes and we will think back to Dexter and PowerPuff Girls and even Samurai Jack, as our quality launched only for the process and everything, this is so solid. And to have 30 solids, incredible [episodes] For a modest budget, I’m really proud of it. “
The question is: what will the next history involve? Will the anthology follow the blood line of Spear and Fang over time? Will it skip from an ancient civilization to another in autonomous stories that range over time of survival and fury?
