It turns out that 2015 Fantastic Four The restart almost gave us Galactus fans actually wanted to see.
Jeremy SlaterCo-writer of that notorious restart, he recently opened on his experience in an attempt to bring an adequate version of the cosmic devourer to the screen and how these plans have been closed. When asked about the next movie The Fantstic Four: First PassesHe said to CB:
“I am enthusiastic. I like the fact that they are making a great creative swing. They are telling a multivile story, with a different world and a different set of heroes.
“It seems that they are colliding them with our Marvel film universe. I think it’s an intelligent corner. I think they are getting galactus right.”
But getting “right” Galactus was not that easy in 2015. Slater explained how much he tried to do the classic, Jack Kirby-The bad guy designed the fulcrum of their film and how it slipped away.
“I wanted to make it our great evil and there was a little internal thrust. First it was our great villain. Then, he would appear in a scene. Then he was just appearing in the post-Credit scene.
“Leaving the Galactus cloud from [2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer]That I was one of those fans who probably complain about Ain’t it cool news then on how it was Africa Cloud, I was enthusiastic to report a classic Galactus and have that design by Jack Kirby. It seemed that they made this, so I can’t wait to see him in real life. “
If you have lived that era … Know the pain of that stupid idea.
Fortunately, The Fantastic Four: First Steps It seems to correct the course. A promotional link by Snapple gave us our first peek at this new Galactus, and seems very faithful to comics. Producer Grant Curtis He described it, saying:
“The most epic of the most epic you can imagine why it is the global stake with which we are dealing with, the universal stake with which we are dealing with.
“This is Galactus. When Galactus’s gaze comes across your planet, you’re not in a good place. I think it’s a large area and a staircase that you could ever ask a bad guy to bring with him.
“And that’s what Galactus brings … one of the beautiful things of the work with Kevin Feige and with [director] Matt Shakman, I’m totally in science fiction. “
Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps He hits cinema on July 25th.
