The showrunner of season 5 of the boys Eric Kripke warns “There will probably be many deaths”

It’s almost time to say goodbye to The boysAnd if the recent comments of Showrunner Eric Kripke They are something to do, the last season promises to be a brutal farewell.

Identified to the Prime Experience event, the first poster for the season 5 gives the tone with coldly confident homeland, standing in front of the White House, looking back the camera as if he knew exactly what is coming … and we will not like it.

Season 4 ended in a dark place. Homelander intensified his grip of power by moving to hold anti-supe protesters in the prison camps. Hugie, Frenchie, Kimiko and MM were taken. Starlight remains on the run. And butcher? Any fragment of his moral compass remained suspended from a thread.

Speaking with the deadline, Kripke made fun of the fans with a threatening promise:

“There will probably be many deaths. There is no guarantee of those who will survive.”

Nathan MitchellThose who play Black Noir (or at least one of his version), did not even help the nerves:

“There are some things that arrive in season 5 that you will not have in your Bingo card.”

Also Antony Starrwhich continues to offer one of the most terrifying performances of TV as Homelander, framed the last season as a climatic payoff:

“I look at the last two seasons … like an accordion. A piece of the accordion is coming out and then this is the compression that goes back. There has been a lot of configuration in season 4 for season 5. Everything is shooting towards that climate end. So it is exciting because we are filming all this.”

So what does all this mean? If you haven’t read the comic, don’t continue reading. Spoiler in front!

In the comics of the original boys, almost all the main characters end up being dead, including most of the Butcher’s team. Butcher himself becomes a full bad. Only Hugie and Starlight make him really alive. But the version of Kripke has always taken its path, remixing and reinventing Garth Ennis’ Material of origin in unexpected ways.

Having said that … the probability of both the butcher and the house that survive this? Thin to none. And if one of them comes out, we know that it will not be safely.

What do you want to see in the last season? Who do you think it does it alive?
