While we continue to wait for Robert Pattinson’s return as a meditabondo protector of Gotham, there are finally some good news to share. The Batman: Part II he got a welcome update and looks like director Matt Reeves He is approaching the finish line.
As reported by Thewrap, Reeves “has sent pages of over half a year” and a “full draft of the script should be delivered by Memorial Day”. This is a promising sign for a film that fans thought they slid in the development of limbo.
Reeves took his time to create this follow-up and did so while he was dealing with some personal issues.
The original The Batman Hit the theaters in March 2024 and offered a gritty and detective vision on the dark knight. With Robert Pattinson Like Bruce Wayne, Zoë Kravitz like Selina Kyle, e Paul Dano As Enigma, the film was successful both with critics and the public.
The sequel has been under development since it was announced for the first time at Cinemacon in April 2022. Initially aiming for a release of 2026, but now it is blocked for October 1, 2027. While that date it still seems far away, the film has the potential to hit that start of production window at the end of 2025 or at the beginning of 2026.
Warner Bros. has not yet shared any detail of the plot and no new cast or characters have been confirmed. Having said that, with the first draft almost over, not to be surprised if more information start dripping in the coming months. Until then, the bats of bats remains on.
